Strong Box: Global Trusss Ultra-Thick F44P Square/Box Truss Offers Heavy-Duty Strength, Greater Load Capacity

LOS ANGELES-Now, production houses can pile industrial-strength fixtures on their rigs with the new ultra-thick F44P square/box trussing from Global Truss America. With a heavy-duty load capacity, the F44P is a virtual beast of burden designed for those who need extra-strength truss.

The F44P is rigid enough to bear even the heaviest of loads because its truss walls are a full 3mm thick. Completely hand tig-welded, the F44P is made from the super strong 6082-T6 aluminum alloy, a corrosion-resistant material thats three times lighter than steel. This amazing alloy is so durable, in fact, that its also used by the aviation industry to build planes and other aircraft. And, like all Global Truss products, the F44P bears the nationally recognized TÜV seal of approval.

With a wide overhead span of 15 3/4 inches (400mm), the F44P offers plenty of room to safely mount professional-grade lighting equipment and effects of all shapes and sizes. It features a main tube diameter of approximately 2 inches (50mm), with 1-inch (22mm) diagonal bracing for added reinforcement.

“Heres a truss for heavier-duty applications that offers the same light weight, dollar value and other great features that Global Truss has become known for,” said Damian Mendoza, national sales manager for Global Truss America. “The F44Ps tremendous tensile strength means that large-scale productions with seriously heavy lighting fixtures will now have no trouble at all securing their massive and complex rigs. And stage hands and roadies will be thrilled to discover that the F44P is incredibly easy to set up, break down and transport from show to show.”

The F44P employs an innovative conical coupling system adapted from construction technology used to build enormous offshore oilrigs. This serves to help maintain the F44Ps extreme rigidity, especially at key stress points, allowing for more secure overall structuring. Plus, conical couplers assemble quickly and offer a more precise lineup of chords and fasteners than other widely used coupling systems.

The conical parts themselves are difficult to damage and quite up to the job of withstanding the rigors of regular road use. Connection hardware is conveniently included with each truss segment in the F44P package.

“In the past, many traveling productions havent been able to rig their heavy-duty lighting fixtures on high-quality truss because it was way too heavy and priced beyond their budgets,” Mendoza said. “But the high-tech aluminum construction of the F44P makes it not only incredibly lightweight, but super affordable as well.”
